Why Football Brain Training?

It’s a different way to think about 1-to-1 football training.

  • A mental as well as a technical challenge. Most 1-to-1s focus on technique; FBT also emphasises vision, awareness, thinking, INTELLIGENCE.
  • FBT asks players to respond to visual and verbal stimuli, and make decisions based on what they see/hear.
  • We work both on what you do with the ball at your feet (on average, less than a few minutes/game), AND on what you do when it isn’t (the vast majority of the game)...
  • ...which means we train a team player for a team game, not just an individual.
  • We ask players to leave behind ‘playground habits’ and think far more about what they do and why – until they develop better habits.
  • We stress attitude and mindset – to need to smile, relax, breathe and enjoy every second on the pitch.
  • We regularly video sessions so a player can see him or herself in action.
  • Loads of touches of the ball. Far more than any team training session. With feedback, guidance and encouragement after every touch.
  • A high-intensity physical workout. The sporting brain ‘awakens’ under physical strain.
  • FBT shows that pace, power and size are NOT the be-all for a young player, and that intelligent thinking and clean execution are sharper tools to use.
  • FBT gives a player thoughts to take straight into the next game/team training session, and shows that - even before a player receives the ball - body language, vision, movement and communication indicates to any good coach or scout that here is a footballer.

Get involved

Football Brain Training is a different way to think about how you play

  • It simplifies an increasingly overcomplicated game.
  • Asks you to play, think and act intelligently.
  • Helps you focus on staying involved and consistently contributing.
  • Encourages a mindset of confidence, positivity and freedom.

FBT is personal coaching from an FA Level 2 coach

  • Working with 1, 2, maybe 3 players at a time.
  • Two players means more chance to recreate game situations.

FBT is intense and full of technical detail

To get the most from it, you must want to work and learn. And believe you have ability that can be improved.

FBT has a hope for you

It’s this: if you think and work hard, making a habit of good decisions. If you have a positive, confident outlook.

If you see every challenge as a chance to improve.

You not only set yourself up to be a very good footballer.

You set yourself up to succeed in every part of life.
